Karen quickly earned the respect of the project team working on the LaVie brand concept and the specific re-development of the Concordia Eco Resort to the worlds first carbon positive resort. Working with William Mc Donough the lead architect for the project, Karen was acknowledged for her insightful understanding of the future marketing strategies that were incorporated into the planning and concept designs from the very beginning and for her site planning and design inputs. Concurrently working on site as the acting GM Karen demonstrated her leadership and management capability by taking on the challenging role as acting GM in the pre-contract period for the project.
As the Pacific Regional Hotel Inspector for Conde Nast Publications worldwide for the past 15 years, I have seen Karen develop and build existing and new properties into world class examples of Excellence. From staff training, to design and build, Karen's influence has been both lasting and outstanding. In our business it is the final 5%, the attention to detail, the polish, that really counts turning a good property into a great property.
Karen has proven herself many times in different environments, with different budgets and different strategies, to have the skills, both in concept and in communication, to produce the amazing almost immediately, and world standard Excellence as the final result. Karen has my personal endorsement and recommendation
Karen not only mentored our personal development, but inspired us to achieve greatness in our careers. With her all consuming guest and service focus, we achieved Trip Advisor award for excellence in our first year. Her vision for the concept and design supported by her operations management strategies has turned a highly invested, but failed business, into an international award winning property within a year of being re-opened. We have grown under her leadership and found our own feet. Vincent Mistry HR Manager Nanuku Auberge Resort. Fiji.
